Oak

This classic veneer is made from the wood of the European oak. Oak is found almost all over Europe and is the second most common deciduous tree species in Germany.
The heartwood of oak varies between grey-yellow, light brown and dark brown. It usually appears rather calm, but can produce very wild patterns as knotty or wild oak. The medullary rays are recognisable as ‘mirrors’ in the oak veneer on some trunks, depending on how they are cut. Depending on the trunk, these are sometimes very pronounced.
Oak wood is used for furniture, panelling, parquet flooring and staircase construction, as construction timber or for plywood production.
